Emerald, based in Melbourne, have developed joint ventures with grower group Southern Quality Produce Co-operative in the Western and Wimmera districts of Victoria, EP Grain with farmer owned company Free Eyre Limited on the South Australian Eyre Peninsula, and Southern Ag Grain with Southern Agventure in southern New South Wales. In Western Australia, where Emerald is one of the major marketers, strong alliances exist with WAFarmers and Ravensdown United Farmer Co-operative.

Southern Ag Grain, a joint venture between Southern Agventure and Emerald Group Australia, is a Wagga Wagga based grain marketing company formed to maximise returns for growers in southern New South Wales. Southern Ag Grain was formed for grain growers by grain growers together with Emerald, which was itself founded on the premise that the focus should be on servicing the grain grower as the customer.
Proudly local and farmer focussed, Southern Ag Grain is committed to providing flexible and innovative grain marketing products that help Southern NSW growers minimise risk and maximise returns. Southern Ag Grain products include fixed price contracts, price later contracts, managed pools, ex-farm options and buybacks. All products are available for wheat, barley and canola. Southern Ag Grain also offer premiums for wheat and canola quality, with full increments paid for wheat protein, screenings, moisture and test weight.
