How do I buy shares in Southern Agventure?

The prospectus is available at www.southernagventure.com.au. Simply fill out the application form and submit it with a $2500 deposit (with the balance due no later than March 31, 2010) by December 8, 2009. Applicants must apply for a minimum of 5000 shares worth $1 each, then in multiples of 1000 thereafter.

Do I have to be a farmer to be a shareholder in Southern Agventure?

No, anyone can be a shareholder and advice from accountants is shares can be purchased by self managed superannuation funds. Prospective investors are advised to talk to their accountant before purchasing shares through their self managed superannuation fund.

It's been a tough year - $5000 minimum seems too much money?

Share allotments can be purchased in partnerships - form a partnership with a family member, neighbour or friend to buy shares. Additionally, $2500 deposit is required with the application for shares with the remaining $2500 due March 31, 2010.

What is the expected dividend and will the shares attract capital growth?

The dividend will depend on profits but similar ventures in other parts of Australia have paid dividends within two years of operation. Shares can be transferred and it is anticipated if the joint venture companies perform well, the shares may have some capital growth.

Do I have to be a shareholder to sell my grain through Southern Ag Grains or to do business with any future Southern Agventure projects? No.

How is this enterprise different from the grower run co-operatives we have seen go broke in recent years?

Southern Agventure is a non listed public company owned by shareholders with community - rather than individual - control which seeks partnerships with other businesses which have strong financial backing allowing for a clear commercial focus and greater capital management options in the future.

Is there any chance a large shareholder could take control of Southern Agventure?

No, by purchasing 5000 shares each shareholder has the same voting right. Additional purchases in 1000 share lots attract additional dividends but not voting rights.
